Introduction:

Dr. Upendra Bhalero has been integral part of Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgery team for the past 15 years and is an experienced Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgeon (CVTS) practicing at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre. He has successfully performed 4000 cardiac and 2000 thoracic procedures with excellent results. He has performed 50 ECMO and mechanical circulatory device procedures and has been a part of 70 heart transplantations and 4 heart and lung transplantations.

Dr. Upendra has been awarded the Dr. P. K. Sen Gold Medal by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and the Dr. C. S. Sadasivam Gold Medal in DNB, both for excellence in cardiothoracic surgery examinations. Currently, he is a sectional editor for Indian Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery (IJTCS).
