Introduction:

Dr. Hemant Pathare specialises in Heart and Lung transplant surgeries, high risk CABG, Redo open heart operations and implantation of Mechanical circulatory assist devices. He completed MBBS, MS and MCh, all from the prestigious Seth G. S. Medical College and King Edward VII Memorial Hospital at Mumbai then multiple fellowships in TPCH Brisbane and SVH Sydney, Australia in surgical treatment of Heart failure. He is Australian board certified Heart and Lung transplant Surgeon. Dr. Pathare has successfully proctored Heart Transplant Surgeries in the states of Gujarat and Telangana.

Dr. Pathare implants Ventricular Assist Devices in patients of intractable heart failure for temporary or permanent cardiac support. He is specialist faculty at Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Conferences in India. He has performed Western India’s first successful bridging of a Bi-VAD onto a heart transplant for a critically ill patient who presented in heart, liver and kidney failure. He has independently performed  more than 4500 CABG and valve surgeries.

Dr. Pathare has been involved in more than 140 Heart Transplants, 69 Double lung transplants, 20 permanent LVADs and countless ECMOs. During his transplant fellowship, Dr Pathare had the privilege of assisting Australian Surgeon Prof. Kumud Dhital, to perform the world’s first 2 successful Donation after Circulatory Death (DCD) Heart transplants using the Transmedics Organ Care System at the world famous St Vincents Hospital, Sydney.
