Introduction:

Dr Kamlesh Khandelwal is a practicing General & Laparoscopic Surgeon since 1986, and affiliated to Jaslok Hospital since 2007. At present officiating as Director of Surgery Department at Jaslok Hospital. 

Dr Khandelwal's main areas of interest are Gastro-Intestinal and endocrine surgeries. With invent of minimal access surgery in 1990, he learnt and started performing laparoscopic surgery since 1992, from Basic laparoscopic surgeries like appendectomy, cholecystectomy and Hernia surgery mastered to advanced surgeries like pancreatic, colonic, and adrenal surgeries through minimal access approach. He is trained in Robotic surgery at Atlanta (USA) in 2016 and at Jaslok Hospital. 

Dr Kamlesh visits Ethicon Institute of Endoscopic Surgery (EISE) since 1995 and CeMast, now IMMast (Institute for laparoscopic training) since 2012 as a faculty for teaching Minimal Access Surgeries to post-graduates and consultants in surgery. 

He was passionate about teaching students, interns, house-surgeons, and registrars during his tenure at Nair Hospital and continuing the same at Jaslok hospital as part of the teaching curriculum, to update, regular surgical clinics are planned for family physicians at various places.
