Padma-shri Dr. Indira Hinduja is a renowned Obstetrician and Gynecologist and Infertility specialist in India. She is the pioneer of In-vitro Fertilization, embryo transfer and credited the delivery of India’s first scientifically documented test-tube baby(1986), the first Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT baby 1988) and the first egg-donation baby(1990). She is working in Jaslok Hospital and research centre as Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, in Hinduja Hospital (Mahim) and Breach Candy Hospital Trust.

After completing primary education in Municipal school being a good student she did M.D. in Obstetric and Gynaecology and also awarded Ph.D in the human In-vitro fertilization and embryo transfer from Mumbai University. Her continuous zest in research field has broaden the vision in stem cells development, embryo implantation, metabolomics and detecting of genetic abnormality in embryos.
