Dr Mehta has done her post graduation in Ophthalmology ( DNB Ophthalmology) from Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, after which she joined Sankara Netralaya ,Chennai for 2 years as Fellow in retina surgery and research, where she worked and trained under the leaders in the field and obtained extensive experience in Medical and surgical retinal disorders. She then joined a long term fellowship program offered by the European Society of Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology where she built her expertise under the guidance of Dr Ursula Schmidt- Erfurth a stalwart in the field and a world renowned retina surgeon. Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow she specialises in Phacoemulsification cataract surgery, medical  and  surgical Retina, Retinopathy  of prematurity and Uveitis.
