Introduction:

Dr Maithili Kamat is a consultant Dermatologist and Trichologist. She has been practising since last 20 years.

After securing 1st ranks in both her dermatology qualifying examinations (MD & DDV)- Mumbai, she received a year long training in Research in Basic Science at University of Bern, Switzerland & 3 months of intensive training in 'Applications of lasers in dermatology' at Institute of Laser Medicine, Ulm, Germany.

Dr Kamat practices medicine in a holistic manner. She believes that skin, being a mirror of internal organs, a dermatologist also needs to address other issues like nutrition, hormones, weight control while managing a skin/ hair concern. Be it a Paediatric, Geriatric skin disorder or a cosmetic skin concern each one has its own challenges and demands which she believes in addressing with empathy and equal attention.
