Dr Vyankatesh Shivane is MRCP (UK), Consultant Diabetologist & Metabolic Physician. He has completed his graduation and post-graduation from prestigious institute, Seth G.S.Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital Mumbai. He has been member of Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom. He is member of Endocrine Society USA.

He has 21 years of experience in practice. He has more than 40 peer reviewed international publications on his credit. He has vast experience of clinical research and has extensively worked in the field of research in diabetes, thyroid & endocrine diseases. He has more than 75 clinical trials on his credit as an investigator & co-investigator.

He has been faculty for ICMR and various organizations and has delivered many lectures nationally and internationally. He has been actively involved in patient education in print and visual media like Doordarshan, BBC, Loksatta, Lokmat etc.

His special emphasis is on life style modification, preventive diabetology & management of obesity.

He is sub editor of journal of post graduate medicine and section editor of journal of diabetes, obesity and metabolism.

He has been invited as an expertise to CDSCO, DCGI office, New Delhi for expert opinion on fixed dose combination therapy. He was involved in starting speciality OPDs like young Diabetes OPD, Gesttional Diabetic Mother opd and other inter-disciplinary clinics in Endocrinology in KEM Hospital. Dr Shivane was also involved as a faculty for IDC-WHO collaboration for management and prevention of diabetes in Maharashtra.
