About Us:

Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre is one of Mumbais leading tertiary care institutions with 350 beds. The hospital is a centre for research and clinical innovation, conducting multiple national and international trials to enhance patient outcomes and clinical excellence. The Ultrasonography Department provides diagnostic imaging services across multiple specialties using state-of-the-art equipment and advanced imaging protocols.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Provide comprehensive emergency care to both inpatient and outpatient cases.

  • Manage all aspects of emergency carefrom evaluation and diagnosis to treatment and discharge.

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the Emergency Department as per hospital standards and protocols.

  • Collaborate with specialists and guide junior emergency physicians in clinical, administrative, and teaching duties.

  • Ensure adherence to departmental policies, including infection control and documentation.

  • Oversee EMS and ambulance services, ensuring effective pre-hospital care.

  • Participate in community awareness, research, training programs, and CMEs.

  • Attend referred and EMS cases across all specialties and report progress to treating consultants.

  • Comply with institutional policies and carry out additional duties assigned by the Head of EMS

Job Summary

The Emergency Medical Officer is responsible for delivering comprehensive emergency care to both inpatient and outpatient cases, ensuring timely evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and safe discharge. The role includes supervising daily Emergency Department operations, guiding junior physicians, collaborating with specialists, and overseeing EMS and ambulance services. The EMO supports departmental standards, infection control, documentation practices, community programs, and institutional policies while contributing to teaching, training, and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide complete emergency care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, stabilization, and discharge for all emergency cases.

  • Manage daily operations of the Emergency Department in accordance with hospital standards and protocols.

  • Collaborate with specialists and update treating consultants on referred and EMS cases.

  • Guide and supervise junior emergency physicians in clinical, administrative, and teaching activities.

  • Ensure strict compliance with departmental policies, infection control practices, and accurate documentation.

  • Oversee EMS and ambulance services, ensuring effective coordination and high-quality pre-hospital care.

  • Participate in community awareness programs, research activities, training sessions, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.

  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the Head of EMS and comply with all institutional policies.
