Introduction:

Dr. S. R. Handa is a young, dynamic, knowledgeable & astute Interventional Cardiologist. After completing MBBS and MD (Medicine), he did one and half year Fellowship in Cardiology course at Bombay Hospital & Institute of Medical Sciences, Bombay. He joined Jaslok Hospital in 1986 in Department of Cardiology as a Clinical Assistant and did his DNB Cardiology. He was the 1st candidate to pass DNB Cardiology from Jaslok Hospital. He was then appointed as a Hon. Interventional Cardiologist in the year 1990.

Dr. Handa is actively involved in teaching and has performed numerous live demonstrations which were shown from Jaslok to various places in India as well as in Singapore and London. He has done live complex cases for Interventional Cardiologists in Belgrade, Singapore and Bangkok along with Dr. A. B. Mehta. Dr. Handa has also done special course in laser for myocardium revascularisation (PTMR) from Cleveland and complex angioplasties from Paris. He has performed more than 25,000 Coronary Angiographies and more than 15,000 Coronary Angioplasties as primary/first assistant.
