JASLOK HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTRE FELLOWSHIP IN PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGY

Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre is one of the best-known tertiary referral Centres in India.

The Division of Paediatric Neurology under the Department of Neurology with Head of Division -Dr Anaita Udwadia Hegde; is among the best known in the country who has been treating and managing children with neurological concerns over last 15 years.

The Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology, an intensive two-year fellowship is designed to prepare paediatricians for academic careers in paediatric neurology. Fellows will develop the clinical skills and understanding necessary to become outstanding provider of care for children with neurological concerns. Trainees will participate in both inpatient and outpatient clinical duties. They may additionally get a chance to participate in ongoing international research trials and develop research skills that will allow them to perform independently in an academic or clinical setting.

The selected candidate will be expected to participate in all clinical work, read and research cases, maintain records and participate in academic activities of the department of Neurology. An exit exam will complete the course at the end of 24 months

 

Details of the Fellowship Course:

Eligibility

  • MD/ DNB – Paediatrics
  • Any student of Indian nationality who has completed the M.D / D.N.B. course in Paediatrics from a Medical Council of India or State Medical Council recognized University in India is eligible for this fellowship program.
  • Fellowship in Medical Oncology: MD/DNB-Medicine, Pediatrics, Pulmonary Medicine, Radiotherapy(Total Seats - 2)
  • Fellowship in Hepatology: MD/DNB-Medicine, Medicine, Pediatrics(Total Seats - 2)
  • Fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery: MD/DNB-General Surgery(Total Seats - 2)
  • Fellowship in Diabetology : MD / DNB- General Medicine (Total Seats - 1)

Selection Process:

By interview with appointed panel

Duration of the course

The Fellowship program will be for 24 Months which will include:

  • Clinical Paediatric Neurology: 18 months
  • Clinical adult Neurology: 3 months
  • Clinical Neurophysiology: 3 months

 

 

 

Stipend

The Fellow will be paid a stipend as per hospital policy

Deductions:

Deposit as per hospital policy which is refundable at the end of the course

Lodging & Boarding:

The fellow will be provided housing with necessary deductions. Meals will be provided in hospital mess (deductions as per hospital policy).

Start date of course:

Course started since 1st August 2018

Assessment of the Candidate:

The candidate shall be assessed by an internal panel of doctors and awarded a “Certificate of Fellowship In Paediatric Neurology ”, duly signed by members of the fellowship program & Jaslok Hospitaland Research Centre.

ONE YEAR PAIN FELLOWSHIP

ONE YEAR PAIN FELLOWSHIP AT JASLOK HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE

A structured one year fellowship in Pain Medicine called FIAPM (Fellow of Indian Academy of Pain Medicine) is available at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre from 2018 (the year of inception of this fellowship).

The next post is available from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026 at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai.

Overview

The fellow is enrolled for this dedicated multidisciplinary training program in Pain Medicine for one year under Dr Preeti Doshi who heads the department at Jaslok Hospital. She has extensive experience of over two and a half decades in managing complex cases of chronic refractory pain with a comprehensive approach including advanced pain therapies that are available at only a few select centers in India.

The training team includes a junior chronic pain consultant and other specialty experts — Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, Orthopaedic surgeons, Oncosurgeons, Radiologists, and Anaesthesiologists — who contribute to the fellow's education as necessary for comprehensive training.

Clinical & Procedural Exposure

Fellows get exposure to the whole spectrum of MIPSIs (Minimally Invasive Pain and Spine Interventions) with all necessary equipment and excellent hands-on training. Advanced pain therapies include:

  • Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)
  • Intrathecal Drug Delivery Systems
  • Non-invasive neuromodulation procedures

There is also comprehensive academic support with access to textbooks, journals and a basic orientation to clinical research.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate applying should have one of the following postgraduate qualifications and be registered with the NMC / State Medical Council:

  • MD – Anaesthesiology
  • Diploma in Anaesthesiology (DA)
  • DNB in Anaesthesiology
