Introduction:

Dr. Prem Naganath's major objective is to establish a strong framework for holistic elderly care through comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and interdisciplinary interventions. He is passionate about teaching, academics, and research to provide the best evidence-based care for the older person. His areas of interest include Geriatric syndromes, Dementia, Urinary Incontinence, Orthogeriatrics, and Perioperative care of the elderly. He has developed and implemented multiple research projects pertaining to elderly care.

As a frequent seeker of evidence-based knowledge, he has multiple presentations at various national and international conferences. Nursing training and postgraduate teaching have been his forte. He is extensively trained in providing a team-based intervention including a multidisciplinary approach through physiotherapist, dietician, and medical social worker.

Dr. Naganath started the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Jaslok Hospital in 2018 (the 1st of its kind in South Mumbai). He also established the first-ever support group for older adults and organized Multiple Lectures, Webinars for doctors, Nurses, and Older adults (both online and offline). He believes in Holistic and Continuum of Care for older adults.
