Introduction:

Dr. Atit Dharia is a Consultant Nephrologist and Renal Transplant Physician at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre. He has completed M.B.B.S. from MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai, M.D. Internal Medicine training from INHS Asvini, Colaba. He has done DrNB Nephrology from Manipal hospital, Bengaluru which is one of the pioneer institutes for nephrology training in India.  

He then completed clinical fellowship in nephrology from University of Toronto where he got to work with world renowned nephrologist. He got extensive experience of managing patients with acid base disorder, acute kidney injury, and glomerulonephritis. He also got to extensively work on patients on hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home dialysis and CRRT. Later, I got selected for CaRE (Cardiology, Renal, Endocrinology) fellowship, which is one of the latest sub-specialty in Nephrology. During this fellowship, I received advance training to treat patients with diabetic nephropathy and cardiorenal syndrome.  

Dr Dharia also has done his fellowship in kidney/kidney-pancreas transplant (American Society of Transplantation). During this fellowship, he got the opportunity to work with pioneers in the field of renal transplant. He got exposure to >200 kidney transplant and >20 kidney-pancreas transplant. He was also involved in kidney donor evaluation. During his 4 years of fellowship in Toronto, he was involved in teaching nephrology residents, and medicine residents during their rotation in nephrology. He was the chief fellow for IMG for 2 consecutive years.  

Dr Atit has more than 10 years of experience in Nephrology and have vast experience in managing patients with kidney transplant, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, diabetic nephropathy and cardiorenal syndrome. He also holds special interest in managing patient on hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis. He has multiple publications in national and international journals.
