Introduction:

Dr. Malcolm D. Pestonji is a pioneer in the field of endoscopic spine surgery in India, with over three decades of experience in orthopaedics and spine care. After completing his MBBS from MRMC Gulbarga and TNMC Mumbai, he pursued his post-graduation with a D-Ortho and later completed MS in Orthopaedics from TNMC, Mumbai. His journey into spine surgery began under the mentorship of the renowned Dr. V. J. Leheri in 1987. Over the years, Dr. Pestonji has not only established himself as a leading spine surgeon but also as an innovator and educator, having contributed significantly to the evolution of minimally invasive spinal procedures.

He is the founder of the Endoscopic Spine Foundation India and the World Federation of Spine Endoscopy, fostering education and research in advanced spine surgery. Internationally trained at the A.O. Centre in Davos, Switzerland, he has been a faculty member and speaker at numerous global conferences. Dr. Pestonji has trained surgeons worldwide through live surgeries and cadaveric workshops, emphasizing safer, stitchless, and effective spinal interventions. His commitment to academic excellence is reflected through multiple publications, including surgical manuals and book chapters.
