Multidisciplinary Clinics (MDCC)

The Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic (MDCC) is a specialised department within Jaslok Hospital that provides comprehensive cancer care to patients. The clinic is staffed by a team of highly skilled and experienced healthcare professionals, including oncologists, surgeons, radiation therapists, nurses, social workers, and other support staff. 

The clinic deals with all types of cancers, including breast cancer, prostate cancer and cancers of the neck and hand.

The primary goal of the Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic is to provide coordinated care to patients with cancer, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

The MDCC begins treatment with a comprehensive evaluation of each patient's condition. This evaluation includes a physical examination, medical history review, and a detailed assessment of the patient's symptoms. Diagnostic tests such as imaging, blood tests, or biopsies may also be performed to help determine the type and stage of cancer.

Once a diagnosis is made, the MDCC team works with each patient to develop an individualised treatment plan. Treatment options may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy. The clinic uses state-of-the-art technologies and facilities to provide all these treatments. 

Support and rehabilitation are important components of cancer treatment. The MDCC team, therefore, provides pain management, nutrition counselling, physical therapy, and other services designed to help patients manage the side effects of treatment and improve their overall quality of life.

The MDCC recognizes the importance of psychosocial support in cancer care. The clinic has social workers and counsellors who provide emotional support and counselling to patients and their families.
