The Department of Imaging & Interventional Radiology at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre is dedicated to providing patients with high-quality diagnostic and interventional radiology services. The department has been a pioneer in acquiring state-of-the-art technology for delivering not only the best diagnostic services but also extending beyond and providing minimally invasive therapeutic procedures.

The 64-Slice-Spiral-CT Unit was installed for the 1st time in India at the Department of Imaging & Interventional Radiology of Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre. The department also houses the 1st Dual Energy CT scan machine, which is still functional and provides state-of-the-art images with additional improved applications.

The MRI department at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre was the 1st in the nation to acquire TIM technology which is considered to have the best resolution for clinical imaging and research. Currently, Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre has the latest wide bore, high resolution, state-of-the-art 3T Philips Ingenia Ellition MRI with compressed sense technology and ambient experience. This MR has path-breaking 3D APT software for high-level neuro-oncology applications.

The Department of Imaging & Interventional Radiology is also equipped with MRgFUS (MR-guided Focused Ultrasound), the 1st in India and Asia, which specialises in non-invasive incision-free therapeutic technology for various medical disorders. The department has been operating successfully without surgery for many years and has to date treated more than 2000 patients with uterine fibroids, uterine adenomyosis, prostate cancer, bone metastasis and facet arthropathy. Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre has the 3rd largest number of MRgFUS treatments in the world.

The Breast Imaging Unit of the Department has recently acquired the latest Amulet Innovality Digital Mammography Machine equipped with Dual mode Tomosynthesis, Contrast Mammography, Stereotactic Biopsies and VABB. 

The Ultrasound Department in the centre is also equipped with the latest scanners with advanced capabilities like ABVS (Automated Breast Volume Scanning) and ARFI (Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse) Imaging. Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre also provides CEUS (Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound) services and multiple USG-guided procedures, including foetal interventions.

The DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography) unit in the department is the 1st in India to obtain 3D rotational DSA angiography. The 1st coil embolization of aneurysm and carotid stenting was performed in this very department. The department has specialised consultants who perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures specialising in neurological, gastrointestinal and body interventions. 

The conventional radiology subsection is equipped with a high-end digital Fuji X-Ray unit, mobile digital units, and DR and CR with high-end IITV units for every single radiological diagnostic application.
