Department of Respiratory Medicine at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre
The diagnosis and treatment of all respiratory problems are provided by the Department of Respiratory Medicine. The department operates a daily outpatient clinic as well as inpatient services, which include managing intensive care patients in wards and on ventilators. Studies were undertaken to define normative standards for lung function, the genesis of interstitial lung disease, and the measurement of serum angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in Indian patients are only a few of the department's accomplishments. The department was one of the 1st in Western India to begin estimating ACE levels.
Throughout 10 to 14 years, the department participated in International Studies for Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC), serving as the Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator. Based on the ISAAC study, numerous publications have been published in international journals about the prevalence of rhinitis, eczema, and asthma in children. For all lung function tests, exercise testing, and sleep studies, our pulmonary function lab is fully outfitted with cutting-edge technology.
Jaslok Hospital boasts over 300 eminent physicians, many of whom are trailblazers in their specialized domains. Moreover, they have garnered a reputation for devising groundbreaking and inventive clinical protocols.
