Introduction:

Dr. R. P. Ram is a highly accomplished medical professional with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. Currently, he serves as a Consultant to the Department of Internal Medicine at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, where he has been associated since August 1, 2012.
Prior to joining Jaslok Hospital, Dr. Ram had an illustrious 32-year tenure with the Indian Railways. During his time at Jaslok Hospital, he has held esteemed positions, including HOD-Coordinator Internal Medicine and Director Academic- Medical education, (DNB /Post graduate teaching programme 
Dr. Ram's areas of specialization include Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Metabolic diseases, and Clinical Cardiology/Cardiovascular Medicine. He has a special interest in Preventive Cardiology, Non-Interventional Cardiology, Obesity-related issues, Clinical Endocrinology, and Geriatric Medicine.
A testament to his commitment to excellence, Dr. Ram has undergone extensive training in his fields of expertise. He completed a three-year training program in Diabetes and Cardiology from King George's Medical College, Lucknow, India. Additionally, he underwent a one-year training program in Cardiology, including Echo training, from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Medical Institute (SGPGI), Lucknow, India.

Dr. Ram's academic credentials are equally impressive. He holds an M.B.B.S. degree from Moti Lal Nehru Medical College (MLN), Allahabad, U.P., India (1977). He further pursued his M.D. in General Internal Medicine from King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, U.P., India (1997), where he was awarded a gold medal for being the best resident.
