Dr Ganapathi Bhat is a Senior Consultant with the Medical Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant department at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai, India.
Dr Bhat has vast experience in Haematological malgnancies, Solid tumours management, Bone Marrow Transplant, Immunotherapy and trageted therapy. He is trained in carrying out both autologous and allogenic hematopoetic stem cell transplant for various disorders and undertake PRRT therapy for neuroendocrine tumour and metastic carcinoma of prostate.
He gained experience in Bone Marrow Transplant at Kuwait Cancer Control Centre, where he worked in Lymohoma and BMT. He underwent an advanced ICAs training course on Blood Cell Transplantation at ULM University, Germany; and ESH-EBMT training course on Haematopoetic Stem Cell Transplantation at LA-BAULE, France in 2011 and ESH-EBMT training course on Haematopoetic Stem Cell Transplantation at Alicante, Spain.
Dr Bhat is affiliated with Asian-Pacific Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation, European Heamatology Association, European Society of Medical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research and the College of Chest Physicians of India. In addition, he has several publications, including books, chapters to his name. Currently, he is a mentor for MSc and PhD students in Applied Biology and Fellowship in Medical Oncology (under MUHS) for Mumbai University. Dr Bhat was also part of Kuwait University Teaching Faculty for MRCP-Haematology/ Pathology during his Kuwait Cancer Control Centre tenure.

Project Title- "Isolation and Characterization of Regulatory T Cells in Heterogeneous Population" at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai 400026, Maharashtra, India
The research is carried out by isolation and characterization of the CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cells from the peripheral blood by Flowcytometry for further in various clinical conditions like Graft versus Host Disease in post Allogenic hematopoetic stem cell transplant, various autoimmune disorders like Type I diabetes, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune haptitis, SLE; Pregnancy less than 14 weeks, and cord blood. Our aim is to have a comparative study of the population of regulatory T cells in enumerated disorders with the control samples.
