Dr. Amit Karad is a preeminent cardiac surgeon, possessing extensive acumen in Cardio-Vascular Surgery, Advanced Heart Failure Management, Transplant Surgery, and Advance Aortic Surgeries. Dr. Karad embarked on his initial training in cardiac surgery at Jaslok Hospital in 2010, under the mentorship of Mumbai's leading experts in the field. He subsequently completed his M.Ch. training at the illustrious Nair Hospital, Mumbai, where he attained 3rd place in the university rankings and served as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Karad further honed his skills by securing an advanced fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant at the 3rd best hospital in the world, Toronto General Hospital, Canada, This fellowship is recognized as one of the most prestigious fellowships globally, Toronto General is renowned for its high volume of heart and lung transplants, as well as ventricular assist device procedures.

Under the tutelage of world-renowned surgeons such as Dr. Cusimano, Dr. Vivek Rao, Dr. Tirone David, Dr. Jennifer Chung, and Dr. Piroze Daverwala, Dr. Karad garnered extensive experience in performing heart transplants and ventricular assist device implantations. Notably, he was among the first to perform a beating heart bypass surgery concomitantly with a lung transplant at Toronto General.

Under Mentorship of Dr. Timon David and Dr. Jennifer Chung, Dr Karad encompassed advanced techniques in mitral valve repair and complex aortic surgeries, including David's procedure, the Ross procedure, and the Bentall procedure. His exceptional contributions were recognized with the Best Fellow of the Year award from Toronto General Hospital.

Till date Dr. Karad has successfully performed over 6000 open-heart surgeries.
